Below are a few frequently asked questions that we hope will help you understand more about our community of faith. We invite you to be our guest and we look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming worship services or events!
We do not define ourselves as traditional or contemporary, however you may find those aspects in our services. At any typical worship service there will be a blend of modern worship choruses and fresh arrangements of beloved hymns accompanied by a band, and led by a worship team and a worship choir. Our services often include a variety of multimedia, artistic elements and always, a relevant gospel-centric message from our lead pastor.
Some people dress up and some don’t. Some people prefer to worship in a suit while others prefer jeans and t-shirts. Whatever we wear, we seek to please Jesus rather than impress others. Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.
We’ve reserved a number of prime parking spots right in the front for our guests! You will find these on either side of the front entrance marked “visitor,” but we consider you more of a guest, because we’re glad to have you!
We depend on the giving of our members and regular attenders. The only thing we ask our guests to put in the giving basket is a Communication Card. And if you’re not quite ready to share your personal information with us, you don’t even have to do that! The Communication Card is a perforated tear-off from the worship guide or bulletin you should receive from one of our greeters upon your arrival. It facilitates two-way communication between you and the church.
At Immanuel we take Jesus’ words seriously when He said “Let the little children come to me”. We have a great nursery and pre-school program and would love to serve you by caring for your child during the service if you so chose. Security is tight! You will be asked for some important information, and then you will be given a badge. When returning to pick up your child at the launch zone, you will be asked for the badge again to verify that you are the parent or authorized guardian. If your child needs your attention during the worship service, a small digital screen will display number assigned to your child. If this occurs, simply slip out of the worship service and attend to your child’s needs. As an extra precaution, there are people who patrol the church campus inside and out for security reasons during all services and activities.
