As a pastor, he finds no greater joy than helping people embrace a lifelong journey of becoming like Jesus. Allen answered God’s call to become Immanuel’s lead pastor in July of 2008, having previously served for 9 years as the lead pastor of Clintwood Baptist Church in Clintwood, VA. Allen and Robin have been married for 14 years and live in North Corbin.

As a member of Immanuel’s leadership team, Nathan helps carry the vision and ensure the church is accomplishing its mission–connecting people to God, to others and to a mission. In addition, he devotes significant time to designing environments that help students connect to God.
Nathan answered God’s call to become Immanuel’s student pastor in January of 2010, having previously served for 3 years as the student pastor of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens, AL, a suburb of Huntsville. Nathan and Elizabeth have been married for 5 years and live in Corbin. Nathan’s first Sunday at Immanuel was February 14th, 2010.

Kathy Downing
Administrative Assistant

As the administrative assistant to the pastoral staff, Kathy keeps quite busy answering phones, and managing the office and church calendar and preparing the Sunday bulletin. Whether you call on the phone or visit the church office in person, her friendly voice will likely be the first you hear.
Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and she loves to read books when she can find the time. She became Immanuel’s administrative assistant for the second time in June of 2008, having previously served as the church’s first secretary from 1996 to 2000. In between, she spent 5 years with the Corbin Independent School system working with special needs children, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Kathy and Steve have attended Immanuel since the very beginning and have been married for 28 years and live in Corbin.

Debbie Greiwe
Financial Secretary

As the financial secretary for Immanuel, Debbie keeps an eye on all things financial. Whether it is keeping track of financial contributions or paying the bills and invoices, Debbie has her hand on it!
She loves to cook, watch sports and spend time with her grandkids. Debbie officially came on staff as Immanuel’s financial secretary in January of 2010, having previously served as a volunteer for a number of years. Debbie and Nick have attended Immanuel since the very beginning and have been married for 31 years and live in Corbin.

Roger Helton
Facility Manager

As the facility manager, Roger keeps the building clean and prepared for ministry. From setting up tables for church dinners to straightening the rows of chairs in the auditorium, you’d be surprised how much work goes into keeping a 66,000 square foot facility in tip-top shape!
Before a back injury sidelined him, Roger enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors hiking, caving, rappelling and climbing. Now, his hobbies are spending time with his family and tinkering with cars. He especially enjoys putting a new, shiny finish on a car!
Roger became Immanuel’s facility manager in August of 2004, taking over for his father who served as the church’s custodian. Roger and Janet have attended Immanuel since the early years of the church. In fact, Roger was the first person baptized at Immanuel! He and Janet have been married for 11 years and live in Corbin.

Janet Osborne
Preschool Director

As the preschool director, Janet ensures that our preschoolers have a safe and nurturing environment. Whether your child is in kindergarten or newborn, she desires to create a loving environment where children can hear about and experience the love of Jesus.
Janet likes to spend time with friends and family playing games or involved in activities. When alone, she usually reads a book or cleans the house. She doesn’t especially like talking on the phone, but her phone rings off the hook! Time on the computer is limited due to competition from three grandchildren, her daughter and, of course, her husband Ron. She also bowls on a women’s bowling league, is on the board of the local Women’s Bowling Association and serves as the secretary for the Tri-County Early Childhood Council.
